Back to going backwards on the blog.
The penultimate week of June brought lovely, cool weather--always appreciated by a wussy Seattleite like me--and a visit from Stephen's sister and her crew. Our house was abuzz with excitement as the chitlins eagerly anticipated playing with their Skype pals in person. Cousin sleepovers, Wii parties, bocce ball, game nights. Our kids orchestrated a week's worth of activities before their cousins even arrived. So excited!
Thankfully, the visiting family felt up for some fun, too.
Roaring Camp Railroad
Up in the Santa Cruz mountains, you can ride a steam engine through the redwoods.
And when they say steam engine, they mean STEAM engine.
Cousins reunited.
Trestle, trestle, who sees a trestle?
Train ride, picnic lunch, and a hike through the redwoods
make for some ice cream-loving kids.
Fun times with family!

Looks like LOTS of fun! :)
Next time you're out here, we'll take you on it, Mom. They have a train that goes from the redwoods to the beach, which we've always wanted to try.
