You can tell there's a lot of cultural diverstiy at Bennett's school when he's given a project that asks him to research a
living ancestor and the country he/she emigrated from. We don't have anyone on either side of our family who fits that bill, so we told Bennett he could choose one of his grandparents to study for this project. He picked Grandad Jory, which surprised me at first since he doesn't see him that often, but upon reflection seemed perfect for that very reason. Here was a chance for my son to get to know my dad better.
He had to focus on four major events from Grandad's life with text and illustration on a poster.
 |
| B enjoyed hearing about my dad's early childhood years in San Antonio, Texas, particularly the story of my dad disobeying his mom at the bank and then crashing into a green marble table after trying to run away from her. |
 |
| Grandad moved to Manhattan Beach. Do you like B's drawing of my dad playing football on a surfboard? |
 |
| Benito was proud and impressed that Grandad won the state wrestling championship. |
 |
| Event 3: mission in Hong Kong. |
 |
| University of Washington Law School brought Grandad to Seattle, so of course B wanted to draw a UW husky. |

I love that!
So sweet that Bennet chose his grandpa to chronicle. Thanks for sharing his work!
This is so cool! Love that he chose Dad!
ps. Uncle Eric is pretty impressed with Bennett's Husky! :)
I was going to say the same thing -- that is an awesome drawing of the Husky logo!!
What a cool project and I even learned something new about Dad! Thanks Bennett! He is quite the artist too.
